Introduction

I am the Reluctant Dilettante.
What does that make me?  A Dilettante is a person who dabbles in a variety of pursuits but is not dedicated to any particular one.  We are not simply an amateur or hobbyist, but better know as a Generalist, Savant, Renaissance Man (or woman), or Jack of all Trades.  We are known to be masters of procrastination, highly skilled in the art of holding off the completion of one task by introducing another.  We may or may not eventually complete our original ideas, but when we do, they are works of art - to us - for we completed it!  We are Reluctant as we want to see the succession of our dreams, but inner fears of success or self-doubt constantly trip us back into the cycle of procrastination.  People often want to say Dilettantes are lazy, they avoid work, but they are most likely the busiest people you know.  We have a thirst for knowledge, always delving into new realms to expand our repertoire.  With all that a Dilettante touches, they try to leave a small fingerprint of themselves on the world around them.  That is what I am.
Welcome to my random paradigm.
